About our Committees

ACC member committees guide leadership in the decision-making process related to the organization’s operations. Committees share valuable information, ideas, and input with ACC’s Board of Directors in the best interest of the organization. ACC member committees are standing committees that contribute to activities in functional areas of the organization; work groups that bring together professionals in similar roles across all member institutions to collaborate, share ideas and discuss best practices; and task forces that assist the board and staff with defining ways to address specific, short-term goal related to ACC’s strategic plan.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee has the authority to conduct usual and ordinary business matters of the Association when the Board is not in session.

Audit & Finance Committee

ACC’s Audit and Finance Committee provides financial oversight of the organization.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is responsible for presenting a slate of nominees as a report to the Board of Directors who then elect their officers during the annual meeting.

Executive Committee

Reporting to ACC’s Board of Directors, the Executive Committee has the authority to conduct usual and ordinary business matters of the Association when the board is not in sessions. The committee is comprised of the elected officers of the Board which includes the chair, vice chair, secretary/treasurer, and immediate past president. Officers serve a two-year term. ACC’s Board of Directors ratifies the Executive Committee’s actions at its next regular or a special meeting called for such purpose.

Audit & Finance Committee

ACC’s Audit and Finance Committee provides financial oversight of the organization. Its primary responsibilities include quarterly review of ACC’s financials, developing an annual budget for ACC’s Board of Directors approval, oversight of ACC’s investment portfolio and the restricted chiropractic bi-centennial fund entrusted to ACC. The committee is comprised of the ACC’s Secretary/Treasurer, who serves as chair, up to three board members, and the executive director. The committee works in conjunction with the executive director to advise the board on all fiscal matters.

Nominating Committee

ACC’s Nominating Committee convenes when the annual election is scheduled and is comprised of the chair who is immediate past chair of the association and two board members who are not seeking election to serve as an officer. The committee is responsible for presenting a slate of nominees as a report to the Board of Directors who then elect their officers during the annual meeting.

Workgroups

Eligibility to participate in a work group is an exclusive member benefit and only available to personnel of an ACC-member institution in good standing. They provide the only forum in the chiropractic academic community that is focused on collaborating to advance excellence in chiropractic education. Educators, researchers, and administrators across all areas of member institutions come together for the purpose of sharing ideas and providing input to ACC leadership on issues that impact education, the profession, and the community at large:
